Artist Biography: Grace H. Birch
(American, b. 2000) is a Connecticut-based oil painter rooted in the artistic heritage of New England and the tonal traditions shaped by the Lyme Art Colony. She began her formal art education at a young age at the Connecticut Art School and graduated from the Hartford Art School in 2022. Her training was further enriched through study in Italy, where close engagement with the Old Masters deepened her commitment to craftsmanship, faith, and the quiet authority of light.
With a background in oil painting conservation and the cataloguing of fine art and antiques, Birch approaches her practice with reverence for tradition and technical discipline. Her landscapes, shaped by memory and atmosphere, reflect a sensitivity to place and season. Through restrained palette and subtle tonal transitions, she invites viewers into moments of stillness, offering a contemplative refuge from the pace and noise of modern life.
