Auction Catalogues

Our General Auction catalogues are provided as a courtesy to our clients in person. Specialty Auction catalogues are available to purchase at our auctions. When creating these catalogues, we do our best to give a fair and accurate description of each lot. Any item that has multiple pieces in the lot will not have a detailed condition report given, you may send a representative in for you. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging.

Auction Preview

The best way to determine condition and other details of any specific lots that are in an auction is to view the items in person. Nadeau’s Auction Gallery has scheduled previews prior to every auction. Dates and times will be listed on our website or can be obtained by contacting us directly. Typically, our auction previews are held the Thursday and Friday afternoon before the auction. Unfortunately, drop-in preview times can not be permitted unless an appointment has been made in advance. Previews are free and open to the public. We ask that, when previewing an auction, you be cautious and respectful of the property being auctioned. Previews are an excellent time to ask our specialists any questions you may have regarding a lot.

Condition Reports

We strongly encourage potential bidders to view auction items in person. Whenever possible, personally attend an auction preview or send a trusted representative to view the items for you. When this is not possible, you may contact us and request a condition report. We strive to provide accurate, objective, and fair information on all lots for auction, and we are happy to provide those condition statements as a courtesy to our clients. We are not responsible for any omissions in descriptions or in any condition reports, your only guarantee is to preview the items yourself, or have an agent preview for you. Please keep in mind that any condition statement is merely an opinion, not a statement of fact, and all lots are sold “as is”. Please refer to the conditions of sale for more information. Condition reports are answered in the order that they were received. Please understand that regardless of when you request condition information, we will not respond to the request until the week prior to the auction date. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that condition reports requested less than 48 hours prior to an auction will be answered.
