Nadeau’s was started in 1985 when Edwin Nadeau Jr. first opened his “barn” doors in Colchester Connecticut. Since then Nadeau’s has grown to be known nationally and internationally as one of the only full service auction houses. We are located in a fully renovated building just three minutes outside of Hartford in Windsor, Connecticut

Nadeau’s is a family owned and operated business, with this we guarantee personalized attention to every inquiry. We will guarantee your complete satisfaction with our full service, broom swept, house clean out. We have established a reputation for ourselves as a integral and trustworthy auction house.

Heather Nadeau and Edwin Nadeau III are now working full time in the family business. They have both completed the Appraisal Studies program at New York University and share their father’s passion for antiques and fine art. Heather is also currently studying for her Gemologist degree from GIA and has received her AJP degree as well as a certificate in colored stones and diamond essentials.

Nadeau’s holds Saturday morning sales approximately every three weeks. The new schedule has afforded us the opportunity to make each auction larger and better, with that our clientele base has grown substantially. We also have specialty sales that include some of the finest custom mahogany, decorative arts, fine arts, Asian antiques, Firearms, American and European antiques.

Nadeau’s also offers Estate and Fair Market Value appraisals that are geared toward each individual needs. We often work with many prominent banks, law firms, estate settlement institutions and property owners. We have a wide range of specialist that we work closely with to handle any type of appraisal needs you may have.

As of November 1998, we are located in our fully renovated 12,000 square foot facility, which is the newest large-capacity auction facility in New England. We are centrally located immediately at the end of exit 34 off Route 91. We are just 3 minutes from Hartford center, 8 minutes from West Hartford center, 35 minutes from New Haven, 20 minutes from Springfield, Massachusetts, and 3 minutes from the North, South, East and West Route 84 and Route 91 interchange. With over 8,500 square feet of auction room, we have the largest in Connecticut. We also incorporated in to our auction room, a glass wall over 65 feet long for displaying upcoming auction merchandise which affords us the opportunity to display fine items while they are being stored instead of packing items up in our back room as most other galleries do.

We run monthly auctions that are stronger in dollars realized than anyone in Connecticut and when we run our major sales, we consistently take in $700,000.00 to $1,230,000.00 per sale, which is more than anyone else can boast in central Connecticut. In our Saturday auctions, we usually register between 100 and 200 people. In major sales we register between 400 and 600 people. We also handle 400-500 registered left bids and usually do 300- 400 telephone bids during major auctions.
