A Chinese export lacquer tea box, the exterior finely decorated with gilt figural scenes and floral borders, the sides and lid with courtly pavilion scenes, raised on four gilt-painted paw feet. Interior fitted with a two-section pewter liner.

Condition: Slight losses to lacquer; craquelure, age cracks, and surface rubbing consistent with use.
