American 19th Century, diminutive rectangular wooden box with brass keyhole escutcheon and small ball feet, the interior lined with striking red and purple marbled paper. The exterior retains traces of its original painted surface, now heavily worn and distressed from use.

Condition: Substantial surface wear and paint loss to the exterior; abrasions and handling wear; lacking key; interior marbled paper lining in good preservation with strong color.
