Meiji Period, Late 19th Century

A Japanese Satsuma vase finely painted with gilt and polychrome figural and landscape panels, richly detailed with brocade-pattern grounds. Later mounted with a metal lid and base for use as a lamp.

Condition: Very good overall with light wear to enamels and gilt; metal fittings later.
