1923, featuring the Winged Victory (El Ángel de la Independencia) on the obverse with the inscription “50 Pesos 37.5 Gr Oro Puro,” and the national coat of arms of Mexico with eagle and serpent on the reverse, the coin weighs approximately 41.67 grams (1.339 troy ounces) in total, containing 37.5 grams (1.2057 troy ounces) of pure gold (.900 fineness), mounted in a bezel-style gold frame for suspension on a necklace or bracelet
