the bowl executed in solid 14K gold, rising above a sterling-gilt stem and foot, the cup with smooth tapered sides above a knop set with turquoise cabochons, each framed within chased vine and foliate ornament, the stem features four raised rosettes mounted with genuine opal cabochons, joined by scrolling Gothic strapwork, the circular base with raised lobes and applied quatrefoil medallions depicting the Crucifixion, Sacred Heart, Holy Family, and St. John the Baptist, each in high relief, lower border edged in gilt with engraved shamrock and vine motifs, the underside engraved: “Gift of Catherine Carney, May 22, 1913” stamped W.J. Feeley Co., sterling with shield hallmark, with original late-20th-century appraisal paperwork (Adrian Hamers Inc., 1996) and original Hoffman Gampetro Antiques purchase record
