Color offset lithograph poster executed for the National Cartoonists Society’s Nineteenth Annual Reuben Awards Dinner held at The Plaza, New York City. The bold Pop Art composition features a stylized New York skyline rendered in vivid yellow, red, black, and white, with graphic architectural forms and a speech bubble reading “This must be the place!” Signed and dated in plate 1965.
Accompanied by an original National Cartoonists Society letter on NCS letterhead describing the commission and Lichtenstein’s participation in the event, signed by Jerry Robinson, First Vice President.
