120 Dick Hodgins (American 20th Century), Original Editorial Cartoons
Nine original pen and ink editorial cartoons on illustration board, dated circa 1969–1977, addressing contemporary political and social issues including national debt and fiscal policy, federal mandates, Supreme Court balance, party politics, academic and urban policy debates, campaign finance, and New York State electoral contests. Subjects include satire on deficit spending and “$604B Nat’l Debt,” executive overreach themes, “the new politics,” high cost of political campaigns, Senate maneuvering, and New Democratic Coalition commentary. Each signed “Dick Hodgins” within the image, with pencil titles, publication dates, and printer’s slug notes to the margins.
