    Large folio volume containing 85 finely hand-colored engravings (on 81 plates) of political and social caricatures by James Gillray, widely regarded as the most important British caricaturist of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The work includes political satires, social commentary, theatrical and musical scenes, skating subjects, and numerous caricatures of Napoleon and contemporary figures, executed in aquatint and line engraving with hand coloring.
