Oak Victorian National Brass Cash Register and Base
Late 19th Century
An ornate National brass cash register with scrolling foliate decoration, fitted with a row of numbered keys and original glass sales sign inscribed “NOTICE! Money must be REGISTERED before Goods are Wrapped.” White glass slab above drawer front embossed National. Retains back plate stamped The National Cash Register Co., Dayton, Ohio, U.S.A.
set on an oak Victorian base cabinet originally made to support a National Cash Register. The paneled sides mounted with raised “NATIONAL” letters, the upper drawers stenciled A, B, D, E, H, and K, over lower plain drawers and cupboard door. Shaped skirt and cabriole-style legs with cast metal feet.
Stand Height 45 inches top 21″ x 27 1/2″.
Condition: Surface wear, scratches, and scuffs consistent with age; structurally sound.
