A finely carved late Gothic wood sculpture of the crowned Virgin and Child, the Virgin standing in contrapposto with her head inclined gently to the right. She wears a heavy gilt cloak falling in deeply undercut folds over a red-colored gown. The nude Christ Child, carved with curly hair, is supported in both of the Virgin’s arms, His left arm extended outward toward His mother. The group stands on an integrally carved octagonal base.
