Chinoiserie Black Lacquer Tea Caddy
19th Century, A demi-lune shaped tea caddy, richly decorated in gilt lacquer with pavilions, figures, and floral scrolls on a dark ground. The hinged lid opening to reveal a black lacquer interior decorated with gilt sprays, fitted with a pewter canister and cover engraved with floral motifs. Raised on gilt dragon form feet.

Condition: Wear and small losses to lacquer consistent with age; pewter liner with oxidation and surface wear; minor separations and shrinkage to wood structure
