Set of Twelve Jocelyn Burton Sterling Silver Plates having gold wash center with shell, hallmark on bottom JB, lion, mask and D diameter 12 1/8 inches 478.7 troy ounces Provenance: The consignor’s late husband, Philip Refson, owned the Charles de Temple jewelry shop on Jermyn St, London in the late 1970’s through early 90’s. Charles de Temple and Jocelyn Burton were friends, and he carried many of Jocelyn’s silver pieces in his store. Mr. Refson became a private client and personal friend of Jocelyn’s during this time and often commissioned pieces directly from Jocelyn. The chargers and the bull place card holders Philip was a Taurus are examples of commissioned pieces.
