Bust-length portrait of a blond child in three-quarter view after Greuze’s celebrated composition. French catalog label verso linking the work to the Cardinal Fesch collection (unverified) and restoration label of Momper, Paris rentoileur to the Musées Impériaux, 11 rue des Marais Saint-Germain, dating the restoration to circa 1860.

Condition: Relined, surface stable, scattered retouching visible under UV, light craquelure consistent with age. Presented in a period giltwood frame.
