bust-length portrait of a gentleman wearing a powdered wig and richly embroidered velvet coat, shown with one hand tucked at his waist, the sitter identified on verso with an inscription as a Hofkammer Rat (Court Chamber Councilor) and Commissarius for salt and provisions under the Elector of Bavaria, portrayed at the age of 36 and painted in the year 1738, verso also bears a painted family coat of arms with unicorn crest
