“Sunset – The Catskill Clove”
a luminous Hudson River School–style twilight view of the famed Catskill Clove. The composition centers on a radiant, warmly glowing sunset illuminating a winding river or lake between steep forested banks. Stone’s brushwork captures the atmospheric depth and misty tonal transitions characteristic of mid-19th-century American luminism, with delicate highlights on the foliage and distant cliffs.
