A hand-modeled majolica Pietà, depicting the Virgin Mary seated and holding the body of Christ across her lap. Decorated in polychrome glazes with craquelure and mottled surface typical of early majolica devotional sculpture. Raised on an integral rocky base; the underside with open, ribbed support cavities consistent with period construction methods
