richly decorated octagonal tea caddy with hinged lid, lacquered overall in deep red and embellished with gilt-painted birds, peacocks, and floral motifs, bordered with intricate diaper patterns. Condition: Minor surface wear, rubbing, and small losses to lacquer and gilt consistent with age and handling; pewter liners with light tarnish; overall very well preserved with vibrant decoration.
