London, circa late 1780s, oval body with elongated up-swept loop handles, the domed conforming cover surmounted by an urn-form finial, the face finely engraved with an armorial shield quartered with fleurs-de-lis and castellated motifs, draped with ribbon and curtain mantling and bearing the motto “IN AEDIBUS SUIS QUIESCIT” (“He rests in his own house”), raised on a spreading circular foot

Good condition, minor scuffs, and pin head dings to mostly lid
