Continental Sterling Silver Chalice
Gothic Revival form with pierced knop and engraved dedication (1905), the chalice is executed in richly detailed Gothic Revival style, the bowl with a gilt interior above an openwork knop decorated with quatrefoil and lancet motifs, the lobed base is elaborately repousséd with scrollwork and tracery, underside engraved: “Presented by the Alumni of St. Mary’s Seminary, Baltimore, to the Rev’d John Shanly, in memory of their sympathy of Dun de Chaulnes, 1905”, marked on base STERLING

Good condition, minor gilt loss and light scuffs
