19th CenturyA handsome two-part campaign chest in richly figured burl walnut veneer with ebonized banding, fitted with brass recessed campaign pulls and side carrying handles. The upper section with two short drawers over a bank of four medium drawers, the wide central drawer with a hinged drop-front revealing a fitted writing desk interior. The lower section with two long drawers, the case raised on bold carved paw feet. Classic portable construction and design consistent with 19th-century English campaign furniture.
