covered vase with maker’s mark PS (Paul Storr), full London hallmarks, lion passant, leopard’s head, date letter “O” for 1809, and duty mark, the tall, ovoid body richly detailed with chased and applied classical ornament, including acanthus leaves, foliate swags, a draped laurel wreath, and finely modeled serpent-form handles terminating in scrolls with rosettes, front engraved with partial armorial of the Pierpoint family, raised on a square plinth base with paw feet and shell corner mounts, retains its original fitted velvet-lined oak case labeled W. Boone, 48 St. James’s Street, London
