Harry Jackson (American, 1924–2011) “The Flag Bearer II”
depicting a U.S. cavalry trooper at full gallop, brandishing a pistol in one hand while holding aloft a wind-tossed American flag in the other. Modeled with Harry Jackson’s hallmark intensity and motion, the surface is finished in egg/oil tempera on bronze, giving the work vivid coloration and painterly depth. The trooper’s uniform, tack, and equipment are rendered with exceptional detail, and the horse is shown in a powerful forward stride. Mounted on an oak display base with title plaque.
